VOLUNTEER FOR F.E.M.M.E.S.
There are several ways volunteers can get involved in F.E.M.M.E.S.!
Capstone Group Leader:
As a group leader, you will mentor a group of 10-15 girls for the entire day of Capstone. This includes taking the girls to their hands-on activities, eating lunch with them, answering their questions, and keeping them engaged throughout the event. Group Leaders will receive free breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt!
Note: We ask that all group leaders are women, so that the participants can hear first-hand experiences from their Group Leaders about what it's like to be a women in STEM. If you're a man, please consider volunteering as an Activity Leader!
Capstone Activity Leader:
Activity leaders are responsible for designing and executing an activity that allows the girls to explore a STEM principle in a hands-on manner. During the day of Capstone, leaders will execute 4 rotations of the activity, with the help of several volunteers. The F.E.M.M.E.S. Capstone Activity Committee will guide you in planning your activity, as well as organize logistics for the day of the event. Activity Leaders will receive free lunch and a t-shirt!
Volunteers can also assist in running hands-on activities at various F.E.M.M.E.S. events, including our monthly After School events and community events in Ann Arbor. As a volunteer, you will guide students through the activities and teach them about the STEM topics involved. Transportation will be provided (if you're able to drive a carpool, please let us know!)
